Tricolour comes up in Old City
Families particularly in the Golconda area, Langer Houz, Tolichowki and Karwan put up National Flags.
Hyderabad: Some families in the Old City have started hoisting the National Flag on their houses, in response to a call by MIM president Asaduddin Owaisi. At a public meeting on Saturday, Mr Owaisi had asked those opposed to the Citizenship Amendment Act and the Natonal Register of Citizens to fly the flag at their homes.
Mr Owaisi had appealed to the people to hoist the National Flag to convey their strong resentment at having to providing documentary evidence of their citizenship.
Families particularly in the Golconda area, Langer Houz, Tolichowki and Karwan put up National Flags. Macca Masjid imam Moulana Hafiz Mohammed Osman Naqshbandi put up two tricolours.
An MIM worker said, “We are planning to distribute the Tricolour among the residents by procuring in bulk. Many people are willing to hoist the flags but are not able to get them in the market.”
He said that more flags would be available ahead of Republic Day next month. “We know that shops will not able to meet the demand. We are contemplating to place orders for the flags to give the people.”
