Karnataka: Aunt pricks 14-year-old's eyes with pin

Mysuru: A 14-year-old, class IX girl student was reportedly assaulted by her aunt and was abandoned in a deserted house near Saathagalli in NR police station limits here on Monday evening. The girl has injuries all over her body and serious wounds in both eyes. She is being treated at Chaluvamba Children’s Hospital. Suma (name changed) lives with her parents in NR Mohalla. She was assaulted by her aunt Muniyamma alias Annapoorna.

The girl told police that Muniyamma took her from school on the pretext of visiting a relative. She  then led her to a deserted house and reportedly pricked her eyes with a safety pin and slashed her body with a blade. The girl lost consciousness until the next morning when  a passerby and a few auto drivers took her to hospital. NR police have registered a case of kidnapping.
