Visakhapatnam/Vijayawada: The TD government and ruling party leaders seem to be worried at the groundswell of support for the January 26 silent protest from netizens, celebrities and opposition party leaders. The diluted issue of SCS acquires a new verve and is back with fresh vigour. The only party which is fighting for SCS to AP from the beginning is YSRC, which has got support now from all other opposition parties, along with the TD ally Jana Sena.

Panchayat Raj minister Ch. Ayyanapatrudu suggested Pawan Kalyan who was the first celebrity to support the RK beach event to first go and meet Prime Minister Narendra Modi on the special category status issue and then hit the streets. He found fault with choosing Republic Day to hold the protest. “No sensible person chooses Republic Day to organise such protests. Nobody is against the right to protest. They should have chosen some other day. And how can we compare Jallikattu to special category status issue,” he asked.

The TD government is said to be in distress with the spectacular revival of Special Category Status movement. The emotional tweets of Pawan Kalyan has ignited the youths to stage protests for SCS and the support of the YSRC further ignited the passions. The TD is worried about handling the situation as the Congress, CPI, CPM and Pratyeka Hoda Sadhana Samithi have also extended their support to the movement.
