CPM boss says nothing has come before us'.
THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: CPM general secretary Sitaram Yechury has clarified that party leadership has not intervened or mediated in the allegations of financial fraud against Kodiyeri Balakrishnan’s son Binoy.
“Nothing has come before us. Let us see," Yechury told mediapersons who sought his reaction on the serious allegations against Kodiyeri's son. The general secretary clarified that the party had not intervened in the matter.
When asked whether any compromise was reached on the matter, he shot back "What compromise? What kind of compromise are you talking about." The central leadership is cautious about the charges of financial fraud against the son of CPM politburo member.
The allegations had clearly put the party central leadership in the dock especially at a time when the CPM was raising allegations of corruption against BJP national president Amit Shah's son.
Meanwhile, LDF convenor Vaikom Viswan said there was no need for the party to probe the allegations against Kodiyeri Balakrishnan's son. He said the allegations were related to business issues and work of Binoy and had nothing to do with the state secretary.
He said a probe needs to be carried out in case if there is any truth in the allegations. CPI state secretary Kanam Rajendran said it was for the CPM to look into the issues raised against Kodiyeri Balakrishnan's son. He said the allegations against Binoy would not affect the image of LDF .
