Reservation roster was followed, says TSPSC
The TSPSC had issued a notification in June 2017 to fill up the 546 posts.
Hyderabad: The Telangana High Court has allowed the Telangana State Public Service Commission to fill up vacancies of 545 posts of Degree College lecturers in Residential Colleges (women), while modifying its earlier order, which had stopped the appointment process on the allegation that reservations in appointments was not being adhered to.
The TSPSC had issued a notification in June 2017 to fill up the 546 posts and conducted a written examination and interviews for the purpose in 2018.
In November 2018, the petitioner filed a petition before the HC alleging that the TSPSC was not allocating 29 per cent reservation for Backward Classes for these posts.
Considering the petitioner’s objections, the court had, on November 15, 2018 stopped the appointments process until further orders.
However, TSPSC counsel D. Balakishan Rao submitted that the reservation roster was followed as per the state government’s orders and asked that the stay on recruitment be removed and the vacancies filled.
