Warangal: Eight kids, auto driver hurt as stray dog runs across road
Eight students from three different private schools in Jangaon Town were on their way to school in the auto.
Warangal: A stray dog that was running across the road caused an auto to lose control and roll off the road at Shamirpet village, in Jangaon district, on Friday morning.
Eight students from three different private schools in Jangaon Town were on their way to school in the auto.
According to the police, the auto driver picked up the students from Bachannapet village like every other day and was going to drop them at the school in Jangaon Town. However, while they were crossing Shamirpet village on Jangaon-Siddipet Highway, a stray dog suddenly came running on to the road. The auto driver tried to avoid hitting the dog but lost control over the auto in the process.
The auto fell to one side and rolled over to the other side. The children sustained minor injuries. The local people rushed to the rescue of the children and pulled them out of the auto. They were later shifted to Jangaon Area Hospital.
The doctors said that all the students escaped with minor injuries to their heads, hands and legs. The driver of the auto Ramesh also sustained minor injuries. They were given treatment and sent to their homes.
Among the injured students were B. Anvesh, P. Roshini, Dharma Sai Chand, S. Deekshita, N. Hemanth, S. Akshaya, S. Aishwarya, S. Akshara and S. Shiva Surya. They were all in the age group of 6 to 14 years.
