Hyderabad: Municipal administration and urban development minister K.T. Rama Rao on Tuesday participated in several development works in Quthbullapur constituency.

Among the projects coming up at a budget estimate of around Rs 500 crore, the minister laid the foundation stone for road widening works from Bachupally crossroads to Bhowrampet via Mallampet and Shambhupur, besides inaugurating a sports-theme park in Suraram division, a multipurpose function hall in Bhagat Singh Nagar in Chintal and sewerage treatment plants (STP) in Jeedimetla and Subash Nagar divisions, among others.

“Keeping in mind the growing needs of an ever increasing population, development activities are being taken up so that the needs of the next 30 years are served. Under the strategic nala development plan (SNDP), nalas in various parts of the city are being developed as a permanent solution to avoid flooding due to heavy rains,” he said.

The minister added that several flyovers and underpasses were being developed to ease the city’s traffic chaos.

“I am happy that I have inaugurated development works worth Rs 500 crore in a single day in Quthbullapur constituency,” Rao said.
