Wasn't expected from PM: Ibobi Singh hits back at Modi's 'economic blockade' remark
Ibobi accused the Bharatiya Janata Party of misleading the people through baseless and wrong reports.
Imphal: Manipur Chief Minister Okram Ibobi Singh on Friday hits back at Prime Minister Narendra Modi for his remark on the economic blockade and said that this kind of statement was not expected from the former.
Responding to Prime Minister Modi's allegation that the Congress party is dividing the people by spreading lies about the Centre compromising the territorial integrity of Manipur by signing an accord with the National Socialist Council of Nagaland -- Isak-Muivah (NSCN-IM) insurgent group, Ibobi Singh said that, "This statement was not expected from the prime minister of this country, this is big question to the prime minister and he should reply," Ibobi said in Imphal.
Ibobi accused the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) of misleading the people through baseless and wrong reports.
"When NDA came to power in 2014, they withdrew UPA's industrial policy of 30% subsidy in North-East; this is NDA's Act East Policy. In last 2.5yrs union ministers visited Manipur more than 90 times, don't know why they are coming," he said.
He further challenged the prime minister to prove the allegation made against the Congress government in the state.
