Lobbying for Rajya Sabha MP posts started with the release of the Rajya Sabha schedule in TD.

Vijayawada: Lobbying for Rajya Sabha MP posts started with the release of the Rajya Sabha schedule in TD, which is suffocating with the special status movement on one side and the war with the BJP on the other. Out of three positions vacant for AP, despite YSRC having clarity on one position, still TD is planning to grab it.

From AP, Chiranjeevi, Renuka Chowdary, T. Devendra Goud, are completing their term, while from Telangana, C.M. Ramesh who belongs to AP, R. Anand Bhaskar and Goverdhan Reddy complete their term, where Palavai Goverdhan Reddy’s position was vacant after his demise. C.M. Ramesh is trying hard to regain his position from AP, while the TD high command hasn’t fixed the equations yet.

According to party sources, though one position has been given for OCs, another can be given for BCs or SCs. But in this regard, Kambhampati Ramamohan Rao and Beeda Mastanrao had met the Chief Minister, N. Chandrababu Naidu and requested him for consideration on Friday. Generally, in TD right from nominated positions to Assembly or Parliament tickets, the aspirants had to wait until the very last second. Despite the intense ambiguity, until the day before nominations, the lobbying begins at the early stage. For the RS elections in the month of March, the lobbying was initiated long back.
