Priest killed after KSRTC bus knocks him down in Ulsoor

The incident took place at 7:30 am while Aditya was riding towards Hosakote to conduct a ceremony.

Bengaluru: In a hit-and-run case,  a 27-year-old priest was killed after a speeding KSRTC bus knocked down the bike he was riding on Sunday morning under Ulsoor traffic police station limits.

The deceased was identified as Aditya. P, a resident of Malleswaram. His father is a high priest at Munneshwara temple in Malleshwaram and he was assisting his father at the same temple. The incident took place at 7:30 am while Aditya was riding towards Hosakote to conduct a ceremony.

According to police, a speeding KSRTC bus driven in a rash and negligent manner knocked down his bike on Old Madras Road near 100 ft road. The bus driver ran over his head and fled without stopping the vehicle. Passersby immediately rushed him to a nearby hospital where he succumbed to his injuries.

Police said that Aditya was wearing a helmet which was broken into pieces. The Ulsoor traffic police have registered a case and have handed over his body to  family members after the post-mortem. Cops examined the CCTV footage from the surrounding areas and efforts are on to trace the accused driver.
