Expose conspiracy of BJP: Chandrababu Naidu tells MPs
Disseminate the truth related to funds to N-E states.
VIJAYAWADA: The Chief Minister, Mr N. Chandrababu Naidu has directed TD MPs to intensify the protest, as the Parliament sessions will be convened only for two days in the next week. Speaking to MPs over a teleconference on Saturday, the CM has asked them to “disseminate the truth related to the allocation of funds of around Rs 3,000 crore to the North Eastern States, while AP is burning here.” The CM also wanted them to expose the betrayal politics of the Union government.
It may be recalled that the Union Cabinet chaired by the Prime Minister Narendra Modi, had approved the North East Industrial Development Scheme (NEIDS), 2017 just three days ago, with a financial outlay of Rs 3,000 crore up to March, 2020. Union government will provide necessary allocations for the remaining period of scheme after assessment but before March 2020.
NEIDS is a combination of the incentives covered under the earlier two schemes with a much larger outlay. In order to promote employment in the North East States, government is incentivising primarily the MSME sector through this scheme. Government is also providing specific incentives through the scheme to generate employment.
All eligible industrial units, which are getting benefits of one or more components of other schemes of the government of India, will also be considered for benefits of other components of this scheme. Under Central Capital Investment Incentive for Access to Credit (CCIIAC) scheme, 30 per cent of the investment will be in plant and machinery with an upper limit of Rs 5 crore on the incentive amount per unit. Similarly, Central Interest Incentive (Cll), Central Comprehensive Insurance Incentive (CCII), Goods and Service Tax Reimbursement, Income-Tax (IT) Reimbursement, Transport Incentive (TI), and Employment Incentive (EI) are the other schemes, wherein the North Eastern States will get various benefits, at the rate of Rs 200 crore per unit, as incentives.
Mr Naidu has explained all these points to the MPs over a teleconference and asked them to take each and every point of the NEIDS-2017 policy to the people of AP. “Now, the Union government’s apathy towards AP is exposed,” the CM said and added that AP’s genuine demand to implement the bifurcation assurances has been side-lined and at the same time, the four-year-old state’s industrial growth is being obstructed from time to time by the NDA government.
“As responsible public representatives, you should highlight the injustice done to AP state, in every sector,” the CM has told the MPs and asked them to utilise every elite and mass platform to expose the political conspiracy of BJP.
