Vijayawada: Hackathon held for beautification of Capital
The APCRDA conducted a workshop, Happy City Hackathon, here on Saturday.
Vijayawada: The APCRDA conducted a workshop, Happy City Hackathon, here on Saturday. Officials of the APCRDA, students of different institutions participated in the workshop and discussed various models to develop the Capital city. The students have given presentations on different models. Special Commissioner of CRDA, Ram Manohara Rao, interacted with the participants of the workshop.
In the wake of the Conference of International Happy Cities scheduled to be held in Amaravati from 10th April to 12th April, the CRDA conducted the hackathon workshop. Students from Vijayawada School of Planning and Architec-ture, National Institute of Development, IIIT of Nuzvid, Nagarjuna University, Siddhartha College, SPLDAV School, Palakonda, Srikakulam district, and Vishnu School participated in the workshop.
Over 35 students were participated in the workshop. Mr Ram Manohara Rao said, “Beautiful cities can be a reality only with the public participation. We can develop public places beautifully with creative ideas. The designs, portrayed on the walls of the Vijayawada city by the students and artists with the encouragement of VMC commissioner is best example for it.”
Students have given presentation on beautification of Punnami Ghat and it was approved by the CRDA. The officials asked the students themselves to take up the project. By April second week, this project will be executed by these 35 students. APCRDA planning officer G. Nageswara Rao, Infra additional director N.V.R.K. Prasad, joint director V. Srinivasa Rao, zonal assistant director Mrunmai and others have participated in the workshop.
