Meerpet: Woman, daughter commit suicide

Hyderabad: A 45-year-old mentally depressed government teacher and her 24-year-old mentally retarded daughter allegedly committed suicide at Meerpet. Bodies of Pentareddy Vijayanirmala and her daughter Pashyam Moulika were found in their house on Tuesday morning. Police said that the mother and daughter had mixed a pesticide in a soft drink and consumed it. Vijayanirmala is survived by husband Marireddy, an employee of TS forest department and son Goar Reddy, an intermediate student.

Police said Vijayanirmala worked at a government school and lived in Meerpet. Her elder child Moulika was born with health complications. Vijayanirmala too developed depression because of her daughter's health, and was under medication.
