Nirmala Devi case: Thoothukudi lady prof questioned

She has been summoned by the CBCID police in the professor Nirmala Devi sex-for-marks case.

Thoothukudi: A lady assistant professor of a private autonomous women’s college in Thoothukudi has been summoned by the CBCID police in the professor Nirmala Devi sex-for-marks case.

The 39-year-old Jesin tha Tamilmalar of Chinnakoil street, Thoothukudi, working as an assistant professor in the Botany department of a private women’s college, was alleged to have been in contact with Prof. Nirmala Devi and allegedly stayed with her in Madurai. Based on this, the Botany professor was summoned for inquiry  on Tuesday

One of the colleagues of the assistant professor, Jesintha Tamilmalar, when contacted, however, said that Jesintha came to know Nirmala Devi
during a tour programme and after that she did not have any friendly contact with Ms. Nirmala. Jesintha Tamilmalar’s colleague too added that Jesintha attended the inquiry session and promised the police of all possible cooperation in the case.
