Cobras enter ATMs in Kovai, trigger panic
Under the supervision of IDBI bank officials, the ATM was opened and a four foot long venomous cobra was rescued and left free in a thick forest.
Coimbatore: venomous cobras were rescued from two different ATMs in the textile city. A customer entered an ATM centre to withdraw cash near Peelamedu-Thaneerpandal on Tuesday night and came running out, after sighting a snake. People near the ATM tried to bring the snake out of the centre but failed. Finally, the snake entered the ATM machine. On receiving information from the customer, Peelamedu police along with Sanjay, a snake rescuer from Sowripalayam rushed to the spot. Under the supervision of IDBI bank officials, the ATM was opened and a four foot long venomous cobra was rescued and left free in a thick forest.
In a similar incident another woman customer who saw a snake crawling behind the ATM machine near Sungam on Wednesday screamed and came running out of the ATM. On receiving information, Ameen, a snake rescuer, rushed to spot and rescued a two foot long cobra which was later left in an abandoned area.
