Hassan: Passengers on the Mysuru-Varanasi train run by South Western Railway, can look forward to world class comfort on the journey now as it has been fitted with a coach designed by

Linke-Hofmann-Busch (LHB) of Germany.  The bi-weekly train from Mysuru that operates every Thursday will  offer passengers more comfort  in terms of improved airconditioning and wide windows and more safety on the journey owing to its in-built safety measures of international  standards.

The German designed rake was fitted to the Mysuru-Varanasi-Mysuru train on April 18. Explaining its features, Mr S.G.

Yatish, senior divisional commercial manager said LHB coaches were safer and proven to offer a  smooth ride at high speeds. Besides an improved suspension system, they have wide windows.

And are fitted with a microprocessor controlled high capacity air-conditioning system that gives passengers comfort both during summer and winter.

Besides, they have anti-telescopic and anti-climbing features, which lead to zero fatalities in case of derailment or collision. The disc brake system of LHB coaches is also superior to conventionally used brakes, according to him.

"More trains running long distances will get such LHB coaches in future," added an officer of the SWR, Mysuru division.
