Rajahmundry: Man booked on charges of raping minor

The main accused in the case was assisted by two more persons.

Rajahmundry: A man was booked on charges of raping a minor girl by the police at Bhimavaram One Town police station in West Godavari.

According to police, Degala Rambabu, working as a senior assistant at government hospital at Lingaboinacherla village of Narasapuram mandal, befriended a minor girl when she was working at a mobile shop located at Palacole when he visited it to re-charge his post-paid mobile phone.

Later, he assured to find her a job and took her to his relative’s house and offered a soft drink laced with a sedative and raped her and the act was recorded on the mobile phone.

The accused allegedly repeated it twice and threatened to show the recording of the act to her family members if she intended to disclose it to anyone. The main accused in the case was assisted by two more persons.

Based on the complaint of the victim, police booked a case under sections 376 (2)(n), 328, 506 read with 109 of IPC and the case is under investigation.
