Hyderabad: Scrap worth nearly Rs 6 lakh including plastic, rubber and steel were gutted in a fire mishap in the Katedan industrial area on Tuesday.

Chandulal Baradari fire station officer S. Suresh Reddy said that the heavy winds in the afternoon brought down an electrical service wire and this led to the fire.

As the scrap consisted of mostly rubber thick smoke spread over the area at around 2.20 pm. “It took around about one-and-half hours to control the fire. The fire was controlled by around 5 pm,” the SFO said.
