New Secretariat to come up at Bison Polo Ground: K Chandrasekhar Rao

Hyderabad: Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao said the new Secretariat would come up at the Bison Polo Ground and not at the Parade Ground at Secunderabad.
He gave indications that the Gymkhana Ground will also be sought for construction of the Secretariat, Legislature and Kala Bharathi, a cultural centre, which was earlier planned at NTR Stadium near Indira Park.
He termed reports that the government had asked for Parade Ground as “incorrect.” When mediapersons pointed out that the press release issued by the CMO stated that Mr Rao had submitted a representation to the Prime Minister seeking Parade Ground for the new Secretariat, Mr Rao said, “It was a mistake” by his office. He deflected further queries. He said Bison Polo Ground was of no use to the Army and he had sought the land.
“Neither the TRS government or KCR will not touch Parade Ground. It will continue to remain as an open space for walkers, sportsmen, children etc,” the said.
He said the Bison Polo Ground and Gymkhana Ground extend over 60 acres and would be suitable for the Secretariat, Assembly and Council Buildings and Kala Bharathi.
