KOZHIKODE: The district collector said the reopening of school could delay further from June 1, based on the status of Nipah cases.  In addition to this, the district administration banned conduction of all tuitions and training classes. It asked schools to stop summer camps immediately. Some of them at Perambra, Chakkittapara and Olavannapara conducting special classes received the warnings.

The delay in reopening could also affect the school calendar. But the safety of students and staff is important, said an education officer here. "We cover during the vacation at least 50 per cent of portions so that we could get enough time for revisions before the main exam," said Mohammed Rafi, a tutor at an entrance coaching centre here.  "We also used to do coaching for class 10  to 12."
