Telangana government accused of giving false COVID-19 details to cover up lapses
Why is government showing vacant beds and availability of oxygen cylinders when people are failing to get a bed and oxygen, asks CPI (ML)
KHAMMAM: Statistics about Covid-19 deaths being released by the State government every day are wrong, all over.
CPI (ML) New Democracy state deputy secretary Potu Ranga Rao, providing evidence on the ill-conceived details, said, “The State government released a Covid-19 bulletin by saying that about 19 persons died due to the virus in Telangana. The fact is that about 22 persons succumbed to the virus in erstwhile Khammam district on that day. We have details of all those who died of Covid on that particular day”.
Ranga Rao wanted to know why the government was giving wrong details pertaining to Covid-19 and why it was showing a lesser death toll.
“Why is the government showing vacant beds and availability of oxygen cylinders when people are failing to get a bed and oxygen? It is proven that the government is misleading people. The situation is alarming and the government is merely trying to cover up its failure in handling the spread”, he said.
Giving the details with regard to Khammam and Bhadradri districts, he said the dead included three each in Yellandu and Tekulapalli mandals, two each in Sattupalli, Gundala and Kallur, one each in Karakagudem, Penuballi, Karepalli, Mudigonda, Bonakal, Chandrugonda, Aswapuram, Pinapaka, Thirumalayapalem and Kusumanchi mandals.
