Hyderabad: Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao on Thursday allotted ₹105 crore to collectors of all 33 districts for holding the 10th Formation Day celebrations of Telangana state in their districts for 21 days from June 2 and urged them to move quickly to implement the new calendar of welfare schemes.

Each district will get nearly ₹3.2 crore to celebrate the statehood formation day. He directed the finance department to release the funds to the collectors immediately.

The Chief Minister made this announcement while addressing a joint meeting of ministers, district collectors, SPs and senior officials at the Secretariat to finalise an action plan for holding the celebrations. He asked collectors to celebrate the occasion by recalling the sacrifices made by martyrs to achieve statehood.

Rao instructed collectors to release progress reports of their districts across sectors in the last nine years. They were asked to coordinate with ministers, MLAs and representatives.

He used the occasion to direct the collectors to speed up implementation of welfare schemes approved in the recent Cabinet meeting and meet the deadlines in the next two months.

This included handing over pattas for 4,01,405 acres of podu land to 1,50,224 tribal beneficiaries from June 24 to 30 in 2,835 villages and thandas; selecting 3,000 beneficiaries in each Assembly constituency under the Gruha Laxmi scheme to extend ₹3 lakh assistance in three instalments to construct houses on their own plots and to select 1,110 beneficiaries in each Assembly constituency under Dalit Bandhu scheme and extend ₹10 lakh financial assistance to each of them. He also called for a phased implementation of the second phase of the sheep distribution scheme from June.

The agriculture department was directed to conduct awareness programmes for farmers to advance rabi season to save crops from unseasonal rains and hailstorms, which are witnessed in summer. He asked officials to ensure that sowing of crops is done by November 20 to ensure that the harvest ends by March 31 to save crops from unseasonal rains in April and May.

"To advance the rabi sowing season, we have to see that the kharif season is advanced accordingly. Unless the kharif harvest is completed by October-end, we cannot make rabi sowing in November. Create awareness among farmers to advance both kharif and rabi crops from this year," Rao stated.
