Mysuru: While JD(S) supremo H D Deve Gowda recently dropped a bombshell with his contention that there could be mid-term polls in the state, former Chief Minister Siddaramaiah ruled out such a possibility here on Monday and insisted the government would last its full term.

Speaking to reporters, he rubbished state BJP chief, B S Yeddyurappa's claim that the  government's days were numbered.  "Mr Yeddyurappa is only day dreaming of becoming Chief Minister again. He has been saying this for the past one year, but nothing has happened. Nobody has an answer for his dreams," he added with sarcasm.

Asked about the expansion of the Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee (KPCC),  he said it was being done in the interest of the party organisation. "The KPCC is being expanded with the induction of new faces and also  experienced leaders,"  he added.

Mr Siddaramaiah, who held a day- long meeting of booth level Congress workers of Varuna assembly constituency on the party's performance in the segment in the Lok Sabha elections as compared to  the assembly poll, explained it was necessary to help the party understand the ground realities.
