Thiruvananthapuram: Decide on building permits by July 10 – Panchayat secretary

Thiruvananthapuram: The government on Monday decided to expedite the process of issuing building permits in a time-bound manner.

The panchayat secretary has issued a circular to local bodies to process all pending applications by July 10. The decision is aimed at removing redtapism in the matter of building permits and other clearances required for construction activities.

The circular directed that in the event of any lapse on the part of officials the list of such defaulters should be prepared and submitted to the state government by July 15.

All applications should be processed with 15 days.

The decision comes in the wake of the tragic incident of suicide by NRK businessman Sajan Parayil.
