Hyderabad: Following a complaint lodged by a judicial officer’s daughter against Zee High School for humiliating her and her classmate and warning them against wearing hijab, special teams were formed by Hayathnagar police to probe the issue on Sunday.

The teams visited the school, questioned the security guards, the school management and eyewitnesses. The police, who have taken a serious note of the issue, found that the complainant was a class 10 student. Eye witnesses confirmed that the students were humiliated by the principal and three teachers, police sources disclosed.

The teams collected CCTV footage as technical evidence, which will be used during prosecution, police said.

Another team is seeking clarification from the district education officer (DEO) about the school’s permission and other documents enclosed by the school management, sources said.

Meanwhile, the school principal Purnadevi, three teachers Kasturi, Kavita and Maduri met the judicial officer and sought withdrawal of the complaint. When the officer refused to oblige, the four, who are at large, approached a lawyer to appeal for anticipatory bail, police said.
