Missing cash bag traced in 2 hours by Vijayawada police

Vijayawada: Vijayawada city police on Monday traced a missing cash bag belonging to a city-based jewellery shop owner containing Rs 38 lakh cash in it, within two hours of the incident.

According to Joint commissioner of police B.V. Ramana Kumar, the cash was stolen around 12 noon on Monday when Mr Rama Krishna, cashier of Sanghavai Jewellers, on his way to the bank on a two-wheeler misplaced the cash bag at Governorpet on Monday afternoon.
Two government employees, working in the MPDO office at Governorpet, identified as senior assistant N. Murali Krishna and attender V. Subbarao, found the cash bag on the road and took it to their home without intimating the police. Later, they duo reached the office changing the dress to leave no clue to police or others.
The city police, basing on a complaint from the cashier, identified the two accused with the help of CC camera footage and arrested them.
JCP Ramana Kumar requested people to be responsible and handover valuables left on roads to nearby police stations.
