Yogi Adityanath government to launch pink buses for women

Lucknow: The Yogi Adityanath government has now decided to launch pink air-conditioned buses, exclusively for women in the state, to ensure safety of women during travel. The Union government has sanctioned Rs 50 crore for this project from the fund formed by the Centre in the wake of Delhi gangrape case in 2012. The Centre had announced Rs 1,000 crore for this fund. These funds were meant for gender sensitisation and also to ensured safety of women.

Officials said, the pink buses will operate on all important routes and no male passengers will be allowed on it.
