Congress hits back at Telangana Rashtra Samithi
BJP leader G. Kishan Reddy criticised the TRS government for diluting Centre's schemes and abandoning its people.
HYDERABAD: Responding strongly against the criticism of TRS, PCC vice-president Mallu Ravi said that the senseless talk of the TRS Ministers only reveal their ignorance. “Without any knowledge of Congress party’s history in Telangana, the Ministers are talking rubbish,” he said.
“Due to pressure from our party leaders in Andhra Pradesh, the Congress party bifurcated united AP and paved the way for the formation of Telangana. It is the credit of our party and leader Sonia Gandhi. Of course, T. Srinivas Yadav doesn’t know this fact because he had been against Telangana formation while enjoying Ministership during TDP regime. Didn’t Jagadhishwar Reddy know this. He participated in Telangana movement also. Soon after announcing Telangana, K. Chandrashekhar Rao, along with his family, went to Delhi and met Sonia Gandhi. Is not this clearly stating who had given Telangana?” Mallu Ravi asked.
He further said that earlier Special Status proposal was mooted for Telangana, but Sonia Gandhi favoured the formation of Telangana state. “Was it possible with just one MP in Parliament?” he queried. “TRS MP Kavitha spoke in Parliament favouring Special Status to AP. Telangana Chief Minister too supported it. Now, how do you people criticise the Congress for passing a resolution at the CWC on Special Status to AP?” Ravi asked.
