Nellore: Bajaj donates to svims free clinics
Usually, funding for these clinics comes from the TTD which is passed on to the SVIMS.
Nellore: Munificent donors of Sri Venkateswara Institute of Medical Sciences, Rajiv Shrigopal Bajaj of M/s Vital Laboratories Pvt. Ltd., Mumbai, came forward to provide medicines and funds to the free clinics run by SVIMS.
SVIMS has been running free clinics for epilepsy, hypertension, diabetes, post cardiac valve replacement and related disorders.
Usually, funding for these clinics comes from the TTD which is passed on to the SVIMS. The cost of the medicines given at these free clinics costs up to `50,00,000 per annum.
Due to financial crisis and shortage of funds, SVIMS director Dr T.S. Ravikumar has been on the lookout for donors who can support SVIMS run these free clinics. Responding to his plea, Mr Bajaj has agreed to fund the medicines, which will be sent in multiple consignments. The first consignment has been received already.
