Warangal: Leaders appear in court in statehood case
The Central government must direct the law department to lift all cases during the Telangana statehood agitation period.
Warangal: Warangal West MLA Dasyam Vinay Bhaskar, along with former Assembly Speaker Sirikonda Madhusudhana Chary, KUDA chairman Marri Yadava Reddy, 16 TRS workers and two BJP workers attended a hearing at the Nampally court in relation to the Kanyakumari express hijacking case during the statehood agitation.
The court which called for a final hearing adjourned the case to August 16.
Mr Vinay Bhaskar said, “Several cases were lodged against us during the statehood agitation. We are happy that our efforts paid off in the form of a separate Telangana state. If we were afraid of such cases during agitation, we would not have achieved Telangana today. We have been appearing in court for many years. The Central government must direct the law department to lift all the cases during the Telangana statehood agitation
period.”
He also alleged that the BJP government at the Centre was targeting the TRS leaders to tarnish their image in the state.
