FCC asks Sr Lucy to withdraw ‘fake’ cases
The FCC warned her of legal action if she failed to withdraw her complaints filed with the police.
Wayanad: The Franciscan Clarist Congregation (FCC) has asked Sr. Lucy Kalappurackal to withdraw her baseless charges against a priest and the FCC sisters. The FCC warned her of legal action if she failed to withdraw her complaints filed with the police.
Sr. Lucy of FCC convent of Karakkamala in Wayanad had complained against the nuns of her convent for locking her up in a room and Fr Noble Parackal, member of the PRO team of Mananthavadi diocese, for circulating a defamatory video.
Sr. Lucy had received an order of expulsion from the congregation against which she had approached the Vatican and the Apostolic Nunciature.
The FCC said that the CCTV visuals were handed over to the PRO by the congregation as an evidence to substantiate the charge that there were earlier cases of strangers trespassing into the convent through the backdoor facilitated by Sr. Lucy. Handing over of the CCTV visuals was not motivated "with the intention to insult your modesty" it said.
"It did not intrude into your privacy, as those videos did not contain any scenes' from your personal room or showed you in any compromising situation," the FCC said in a letter. "The sisters against whom you filed the police complaint under IPC 509, did not show any gesture against you," the letter said and added that the petition against the sisters was not based on facts. Her intention in doing it was to defame the sisters and harass them, it said.
However, Sr. Lucy told reporters that she would not withdraw the complaints which were submitted with her full faith and conviction.
