THANJAVUR: ‘Kudimaramathu (rejuvenating water bodies)’ works to the tune of Rs 2.22 crore have been completed in Vennar division in Thanjavur district, said R. Elango, assistant executive engineer, PWD on Tuesday.
He told presspersons who were taken on a tour to see 'kudimaramathu' works in progress that shutters and regulators of Mettuvaikkal, a branch of Vadavar has been repaired and the canal to a distance of 2.5-km has been de-silted at a cost of Rs 14 lakh.
'Chettichthiram Vaikkal', another branch of Vadavar river has also been de-silted at a cost of Rs 4.50 lakh.
