Hyderabad: Another death as dengue on rise
Dengue has claimed one more life, in Champapet in the city.
Hyderabad: Dengue has claimed one more life, in Champapet in the city, taking the total number of dengue deaths in Telangana to 20. Twenty-two year-old Sahera Begum from Singarani Colony at Champapet died after suffering from dengue haemorrhage fever. The Fever Hospital also saw five cases of dengue on Monday. Two of them were admitted.
Private hospitals meanwhile say that they are seeing around five dengue cases on a daily basis and after confirmation, the cases are being notified to the district medical and health official. The high number of dengue cases is proof that groundwork to control day-time mosquitoes in the city has not been very effective. A senior health official said, “It is important that every locality has a dry day concept, and that will help to control the mosquito menace.”
MLA Mr N.V.S.S. Prabhakar said, “In Habsiguda area, fogging is being carried out every alternate day and awareness drives have been taken up too. Medical camps have also been set up in the locality and people are being asked to notify immediately in case of fever so that the follow-up action can be taken. Similar measures have to be aggressively carried out all over the city.”
