Healthy India Campaign held at Tirumala

Nellore: The Federation of Indian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (FICCI) conducted an awareness rally called Swasth Bharat Yatra-2018 as part of the Healthy India Campaign at Tirupati on Wednesday.

The yatra is being conducted as part of a nation-wide campaign, which is intended for inculcating long-term and fruitful lifestyle with healthy eating habits, physical activities, personal hygiene, weight and stress management and avoiding tobacco, drugs and alcohol.

As part of the campaign, NYK officer Babu Reddy flagged off the rally at the TUDA office and it proceeded through Indira Maindanam, Chinthakayala Street and the railway station in Tirupati.

Speaking on the occasion, Babu Reddy said, “The essential part of the campaign is to generate awareness among all the stakeholders, including food business operators (FBO's) on behavioural changes an-d other IEC activities.”

He added that the yatra that started from Pondicherry will pass through various locations in the country and finally conclude in New Delhi.

“During the yatra, the services of Food Safety on Wheels (Mobile Food Testing Vans) are being utilised and they will test the food materials collected from various sources and educate the people on testing them.
