No equipment in 50 per cent labs in junior colleges in Khammam

Khammam: Many of the junior colleges in Khammam district have good buildings. They, however, cannot boast the same for laboratories. This is situation has been haunting around 11,000 science students from the district. The physics, chemistry, zoology and botany labs are in a pathetic condition, most of them covered with dust and dirt. They are, in most of the cases, opened only for the practical exams. None of the labs are in perfect order. They is no proper equipment. The condition of labs in private colleges could not be assessed.
There should be eight laboratory classes in a month. But, this scheduled is not being maintained by many colleges. There are not enough specimen, apparatus, models and charts in the zoology lab. Students from private and government colleges have come out to talk about the state of affairs in their institutions.
