Bengaluru: A 26-year-old woman lawyer apprentice was found dead under mysterious circumstances at a woman’s paying guest accommodation at Vyalikaval on Saturday.

The deceased, Pushpa Archana Lal from Port Blair in Andaman and Nicobar Islands, had come to Bengaluru three years ago. She had moved into the PG accommodation in Malleswaram near Dattatreya Temple only eight days ago as she was joining a senior advocate’s office in the same area. But she was yet to enrol with the Bar Council, the police said.

According to the police, she was found lying motionless in her room by the hostel maid Manjula around 11.15 am on Saturday. The maid alerted the paying guest manager, who informed the police. The police rushed to the spot and conducted inquiries. No suicide note was found, they said.

The police suspect that Pushpa might have either committed suicide by consuming some pills or it could be a natural death.

The police are waiting for the postmortem report to confirm the cause of death. The Vyalikaval police have taken up a case of unnatural death and are investigating.
