Muslims being treated as 2nd grade citizens: Akbaruddin Owaisi
The MIM junior leader stated that the truth in the Congress claim of a wave in Telangana state will be known in a few days.
Hyderabad: Mr Akbaruddin Owaisi, the MIM floor leader in the outgoing Assembly leader, said that supporting any outfit at the Centre would lead to the party being branded as either secular or anti-national.
He said, “If we support the Congress then we are secular. If we oppose them we become friends of Modi. Likewise if we oppose Modi then we are anti-nationals. This is the dilemma faced by Muslims who have been treated as second grade citizens.”
Mr Akbaruddin Owaisi was addressing an election meeting in Mohammednagar and said that if Congress president Rahul Gandhi claims that he is secular he must come to Darussalam just like his grandmother, former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi, did.
The MIM junior leader stated that the truth in the Congress claim of a wave in Telangana state will be known in a few days. “Whichever party comes to power in the state will have to take the support of MIM which is a strong party,” he said.
He was critical of the two-party rule stating that the concept was not in favour of Muslims. “We have not associated with the BJP and are a third force so that the voice of Muslims can be heard. We are now in a position to fight either Pappu or Feku,” he said.
