Seethakka inspects works for Medaram Jatara

Warangal: Minister for Panchayat Raj and Women and Child Welfare D. Anasuya Seethakka directed officials to complete the various development works taken up for the Medaram Jatara as early as possible.

The minister offered prayers to the presiding tribal deities of Sammakka and Saralamma after visiting Medaram village in Thadvai mandal of Mulugu district where she inspected the ongoing works for the Jatara on Monday.

Earlier, Seethakka visited Govindaraopet mandal and inspected the Gundla Wagu bridge near Pasara village, the ongoing road works near Dayyala Wagu and at Chintal cross. She also inspected the parking place, Urattam Bridge VIP parking places at Chilakalagutta and other works near the Medaram temple.

Briefing media persons later,  minister Seethakka said the Congress government sanctioned Rs 75 crore for providing various facilities to the devotees who visit Asia’s biggest tribal fair ‘Sammakka and Saralamma’ jatara which is scheduled to be held from February 21 to 24.

The minister directed officials of various departments to conduct review meetings to monitor works for the Jatara.

Superintendent of Police Gouse Alam, ITDA project officer Ankith, district additional collector (local bodies) P. Srija, district panchayat officer Venkaiah and DSP Ravinder were among those present on the occasion.
