Have no qualms, jallikattu law is lasting solution, assures BJP
Tamilisai urged the TN govT and the police department to prevent insult to the national flag and punish them severely if they continue to do so.
Chennai: Justifying the jallikattu law enacted in the TN Assembly on Monday, the BJP has said this law offers a “lasting solution” in conducting the bull embracing sport as it addresses the concerns of people and ensures safety of humans and bulls.
Urging the people, not to have any qualms on the new law, for which the Centre withdraw its January 8, 2016 notification, BJP State president Dr Tamilisai Soundararajan said the Centre’s decision to withdraw its notification in favour of TN displayed the Narendra Modi-led government’s commitment to respect and recognise people’s feelings.
Taking strong exception to the incidents of defiling the national tricolour by some miscreants during the agitation and also depiction of the Indian flag in black in social media as an affront to nationalism, she said such persons could neither be Tamils or humans. She urged the Tamil Nadu government and the police department to prevent insult to the national flag and punish them severely if they continue to do so.
