Suspended Kampli Congress MLA J.N. Ganesh

Ballari: Congress MLA J.N. Ganesh is reportedly once again leaning towards the rebel legislators of the party after his brawl with fellow MLA Anand Singh, which ended with his suspension and the filing of a police case against him.

“Ganesh felt betrayed by the Congress top brass after the resort brawl,” said a source close to the Kampli MLA.

He claimed that senior Congress  leaders had advised  Mr Ganesh not to go to the media following the brawl and promised to settle the matter amicably, but later went back on their word.

“The Congress leaders didn't even try to arrive at a compromise between Ganesh and Singh and instead allowed the latter to lodge an attempt to murder case against him. Also, all Congress leaders, including deputy CM, Parameshwar and Home Minister, Patil took Singh’s side without bothering to hear him out,” he recalled.

Following this “betrayal,” Mr Ganesh is now reportedly hobnobbing with Congress rebel legislators like Mr Ramesh Jarakiholi and Ballari (ST) constituency legislator, B Nagendra.

Meanwhile, Ballari Superintendent of Police, Arun Rangarajan said the police had been told to arrest Mr Ganesh and in Kampli constituency, Kurugod block Congress leaders have decided to abide by the KPCC's decision to suspend him from the party. Earlier, on Thursday, Mr Ganesh had in a Facebook post addressed to the people of his Kampli constituency accused Mr Singh of trying to end his political career and  threatening his family.

The absconding MLA claimed it was Mr Singh, who had first attacked him and abused his family, referring derogatorily to his caste.
