Thiruvananthapuram: A raid was conducted at the CPM district committee office here on late Thursday night by DCP Theresa Chaitra John following a secret information that accused in the case of throwing stones at the police station were hiding there. However, no one could be nabbed in the raid.

It was on Wednesday night that a 50-member gang of DYFI activists pelted stones at the medical college station. Their demand was that the police should allow them to meet the two CPM activists arrested in connection with a case registered under Protection of Children from Sexual Offences act (POCSO).
The police had registered a case against over 50 activists of the DYFI and CPM in connection with the case.

Though the top leaders of the CPM in the district resisted the move for the raid, the DCP took a stand that she would conduct the raid. Even top cops had intervened, without any result. The CPM leaders at last allowed the police to conduct the raid to avoid the issue being leaked to the media.
