Bengaluru: While the Govindaraju diary row has claimed no casualties yet, this could soon change with two KPCC secretaries asking CM  Siddaramaiah on Saturday to immediately sack his media advisor Dinesh Aminmattu for failing to rise to the defence the government on the issue.

In a three- page letter to Mr Siddaramaiah, the two secretaries, A.M. Jayasimha and M. Suresh said when the  government and the party  were fighting the BJP’s “malicious campaign” to tarnish the party’s image by raising the Govindaraju diary issue, they were saddened to note that Mr Aminmattu, had asked the ministers  whose names were mentioned in the diary, to resign.

Referring to a report in Deccan Chronicle on Friday based on Mr Aminmattu’s Facebook post, the two leaders called the media advisor’s  comment “disappointing” and his stand on the whole  episode “shocking” particularly as he was all praise for BJP patriarch, L.K. Advani.

“While the party and the government are working hard to take the BJP  head- on, it’s unfortunate that your media advisor is trying to bring disrespect to both. This is the height of indiscipline," they protested, claiming that Mr Aminmattu had acted contrary to his brief, which was to protect the government’s interests.

"In the past too  he has tried to bring disrespect to the government. When we held Yoga day, he ridiculed it,” they recalled angrily, demanding that  he  be sacked.
