Hyderabad: In a peculiar case, Telangana High Court judge Justice B. Siva Sankara Rao has filed a petition before the High Court against the Union government for failing to take action on his representations to revise his date of birth.

Justice Rao filed the petition against the President’s office and the Union law department.

“I was born on 29 March, 1959, but it was recorded as 10 April, 1957. I have appealed to the authorities concerned for the past two decades to correct this mistake. Since 1996, I have made several representations to the President’s office secretariat and the law ministry. So far, no action was taken to correct my date of birth. So I am filing the petition,” he stated.

He entered judicial service in 1996 as a district judge and was elevated to the HC in 2013. As per the present records, Justice Rao would attain the age of superannuation on April 10.
