Mayor miffed over violation of protocol at ROB opening

Anantapur: The inauguration of ROB (Road Over Bridge)  created ruckus again this morning.

Mayor Swaroopa fumed at MP J.C. Diwakar Reddy’s Group and the officials for ignoring her at the inauguration programme.

The Mayor is a supporter of  MLA V. Prabhakar Chowdary.  She said she would lodge a complaint against the MP  and the R&B officials to the chief minister and top officials.

The ROB would make commute between Ramnagar and Rudrampet easy.  Areas en route would also be connected in Anantapur city.

The bridge was reportedly constructed by a construction company,  having close association to Anantapur MP

J.C.  Diwakar Reddy and other group led by MLA V. Prabhakar Chowdary and Mayor M. Swaroopa opposed over land acquisition process as it was against the plan proposed earlier.

The bridge took more than two years to be completed, despite disputes among representatives.

However,  JC group initiated the inaugural session near General Hospital main gate.  MP Diwakar Reddy inaugurated the bridge.

Mayor M. Swaroopa lashed out at MP group for ignoring her in the official programme in her jurisdiction.  

"We will approach the chief minister and other top officials for violating protocol,"  she said.
