Nellore: Former Nellore legislator and Telugu Desam party leader Anam Vivekananda Reddy passed away during treatment for Prostate Cancer at Kims Hospital in Hyderabad on Wednesday morning.

The 67-year-old is survived by two sons apart from his wife. He has been living in Hyderabad for more than a year for treatment and he was admitted in KIMS on April 13. All his family members were present at the hospital when he breathed his last.

Vivekananda Reddy became a legislator of Nellore city when he contested with a Congress ticket in 1999 and also won the seat in 2004.  He shifted to Nellore rural constituency in 2009 and won the seat again.

Till his migration to Telugu Desam after 2014 general elections, entire politics of Nellore City rallied behind Vivekananda between 1995 and 2014 and his rivals had a tough time to survive during the period.
