Mullapally Ramachandran throws ball into CPM’s court
Mr Mullapally said that Mr Vijayan and RSS leader Valsan Thillankeri had hatched a conspiracy earlier.
THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: KPCC president Mullapally Ramachandran has thrown the ball into the CPM court and asked Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan to answer the charge that the UDF had benefited by the cross voting by the NDA.
Mr Mullapally said that Mr Vijayan and RSS leader Valsan Thillankeri had hatched a conspiracy earlier.
Recalling the talks between the CM and RSS leaders held at Mascot Hotel when he shouted at the journalists to get out from the venue, he alleged that Mr Valsan Thillankeri acted as a bridge between the CPM and RSS leadership.
"A leading regional news magazine had published a cover page article on Valsan Thillankeri casting aspersions on the CPM leadership. So far, Vijayan has not denied the allegations raised in that report", said Mr Mullapally.
The CPM had alleged that the BJP had fielded a weak candidate, V. K. Sajeevan, in Vatakara where senior Congress MLA K. Muraleedharan was the UDF candidate. Mr Mullapally maintained that even when there was a Modi wave in the 2014 Lok Sabha elections, Sajeevan had polled only 76, 000 votes in Koothuparamba and Thalassery Assembly segments.
"Sajeevan will poll less votes this time too. The BJP has a foothold only in Koothuparamba and Thalassery Assembly segments. Vatakara will give a tough time to the BJP," he said.
