Mangaluru: AICC president Mallikarjun Kharge has questioned the BJP for failing to fill 2.6 lakh vacancies in various government departments of Karnataka.

He was speaking to reporters in Mangaluru on Tuesday.

“The government has not filled over 2.60 lakh vacancies in government departments. They do not do this as 50 percent of it will go for SC/ST and backward class people. As they will not be able to fill up the vacancies with their people, they are not filling these vacancies,” he alleged.

Kharge also questioned the silence of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah on the alleged 40 percent commission in the state.

“The leaders would have made it a big issue if such allegations were against the opposition parties. They are silent as the allegation is against the BJP government in the state,” he said.

He stressed the need for Congress to come to power in Karnataka with 150 seats.
