Telugu boy among toppers in VITEEE results
Hyderabad: Kushagra Bashisth of Jharkhand topped the Vellore Institute of Technology Engineering Entrance Exam (VITEEE), the results of which were announced on Wednesday. The second and third spots were taken by students from Maharashtra followed by Ashik Stenny of Kerala and Ankit Kumar of Bihar securing fourth and fifth rank. Telugu boy Nandyala Prince Branham Reddy of Andhra Pradesh came sixth, followed by students from Bihar, Maharashtra, Haryana, and Uttar Pradesh among the top 10.
The entrance test was conducted from April 17 - 23, 2023 as a proctored computer-based examination across 121 cities in the country and four cities
abroad - Dubai, Kuwait, Muscat, and Qatar. The results can be checked on https://ugresults.vit.ac.in/
Applicants within 1 lakh ranks are eligible to participate in the counselling for admission to B. Tech. programmes of VIT, Vellore and Chennai, VIT-AP and VIT-Bhopal. The counselling that began on Wednesday will go on until June 14, 2023. The rank-wise counselling schedule is divided into five phases till June 15, with details available on the website. The classes are likely to commence in the second week of August 2023.
Candidates with a VITEEE rank of 1 to 10 will receive a tuition fee waiver for all four years, with additional waivers available for other toppers to the 500th rank. Under the STARS (Support The Advancement of Rural Students) scheme, the district toppers (one boy and one girl) in all districts of Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh, and Madhya Pradesh who studied in government schools in rural areas will be given a 100% fee waiver and exemption from hostel and mess fees.
