Income tax department's email-based tax assessment scheme now in Hyderabad

Hyderabad: The income tax department on Wednesday extended its pilot “email-based tax assessment scheme” to Hyderabad. The pilot project had started FY 2015-16 in Ahmedabad, Bengaluru, Chennai, Delhi and Mumbai. The Ministry of Finance said taxpayers  whose cases have been picked up for scrutiny, may convey their consent to their assessing officers to avail the facility.
