Unemployed being exploited for jobs with RIMS, Adilabad

ADILABAD: During these tough Coronavirus times, while some private hospitals are exploiting Covid-19 patients, middlemen and third-party outsourcing agencies are taking advantage of unemployed youth by promising them jobs at Rajiv Gandhi Institute of Medical Sciences (RIMS) in Adilabad.
Incidentally, the state government has issued GO 924 for filling up various posts on contract and outsourcing basis at RIMS, Adilabad. As per the GO, 52 posts are to be recruited on contract basis while 247 jobs will be outsourced. As per details, doctors for RIMS are to be recruited on contract basis, while all other posts will be filled by those recruited through third-party outsourcing agencies.
It is learnt these agencies are collecting huge amounts from interested candidates for getting them appointed with RIMS, Adilabad. There are also reports that many political leaders are trying to accommodate their near and dear in the outsourced and contract jobs at by hook or crook. Some of them have even collected some advance from youth promising them jobs.
Under the circumstances, senior TRS leader B. Goverdhan Reddy appealed to authorities that they strictly follow the rule of reservations and roster points while selecting candidates for jobs in RIMS. He submitted a memorandum to joint collector Natarajan in this regard on Tuesday.
Total vacancies available include 36 posts of assistant professors on consolidated pay of Rs 1.25 lakh, 144 staff nurse posts with Rs 25,140 salary, six storekeeper posts, 11 posts of stenos or typists, six record assistants, one perfusionist, four posts of CAS RMO, 12 CMO, 79 technicians and other paramedical staff.
The outsourcing agency that gets the tender will play a key role in recruitment of outsourcing posts. Generally, outsourcing agencies are backed by political leaders.
